Karen is the Director of Resurrection Preschool and Sweetwater Summer Day Camp. She has worked with Sweetwater Summer Day Camp since 1997 and worked at Sweetwater Episcopal Academy from 1997 until 2006. Karen and her husband Donovan, live in Lake Mary with their three children.
Parish Ministries Co-Coordinator - Marcy Charles
Marcy has worked in the Resurrection church office since 2004. She and her husband Earle and son Spencer joined Resurrection in 1994 after moving to Florida from Buffalo, New York. Marcy worked as a preschool teacher from 1994 until 2004. Her husband Earle is employed at IAA in Sanford. They reside in Longwood with their 2 children Spencer and Cassidy.
Music Director - Tim Hanes
Tim, is the Director of Music at Resurrection. As such, he directs both our adult and children's' choirs. The Resurrection Children's Choir was selected last year to perform at Carnegie Hall with the National Children's Choir Festival. His choirs have performed eight times at the White House. Tim is the founder and Artistic Director of the Orlando Youth Theatre and creator of Orlando Kids on Stage. He also serves as musical director for Valencia Community College. Tim received the 2006 Presidential Scholar in the Arts' Teacher Recognition award. Tim was director of education for The Civic Theatres of Central Florida and created the performance troupe Civic Kids with original members including Mandy Moore, Ashley Drane and Julie Ruth. Prior to Orlando, Tim served as Artist-in-Residence for the State of Tennessee.
Financial Manager - Jill Chester
Jill Chester has been the Director of Children’s Ministries since 1996. Weekly programs include Sunday school, Kids Club, and a nursery for infants to 2 years old. Annually we have an Angel Tree and an Advent Festival, and an Easter egg hunt. In 2006 Jill became a financial assistant to the Parish Administrator. In 2008 Jill took on the position of business manager overseeing the financial activities of the church office.
