Choirs are under the direction of Tim Hanes

If you enjoy music we invite you to join one of our choirs or instrument groups. Each

member is supplied with a rehearsal CD to help learn the music by listening at home or in the car. We also rehearse on Sunday mornings prior to the service. Please pickup a copy of the choir schedules and events located

The CHERUB CHOIR at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection is open for singers in grades K-1. The choir has performed at The White House. The choir meets on Wednesdays from 4:15-5:00.  Choristers will sing quarterly in church, special events such as the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols. The choir learns basic skills in singing and reading music.

 

The CHILDREN'S CHOIR at Episcopal Church of the

Resurrection is open for singers in grades 2-5. The choir has performed at The White House and Carnegie Hall. The choir meets on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00. Choristers will sing monthly in church, special events such as the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols and will present a musical in the Spring. The choir learns basic skills in singing and part singing.

 

The YOUTH PRAISE TEAM at Episcopal Church of the

 Resurrection is open for singers and instrumentalists grades 6-College. The choir meets on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00. Choristers will be learning intense vocal parts, new praise music and performance techniques. We are also seeking a person to operate the sound system for the group. Instrumentalists are needed to form the band to accompany the singers.

 

The ADULT CHOIR at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection is open for singers College and up. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30 - 9:00. No experience is necessary. Choristers received CDs to rehearse during the week. The choir sings a wide range of music from classical, gospel to contemporary praise music. The choir sings each Sunday at the 10:30 mass.

 

INSTRUMENTALISTS are welcome accompany the choirs at morning services and special concerts. Participation can range from performing a prelude during mass to accompanying one of our choirs or playing in the orchestra for one of our concerts.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS Each year the choir produces the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols; In Remembrance; Veteran's Day Concert; Sing Hallelujah, Shout Amen Gospel Concert. As well as hosting Archiglas in their International Tour from Russia.


MUSIC THEORY CLASS - Practical Theory - a class on learning to read music. Open to ages 13 - adult and taught by Tim Hanes. The class will be held on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 7:30pm starting on February 24 in the Choir Room. Course fee $10 to cover the textbooks.
